Booklist editors and Carnegie Selection Committee members Donna Seaman and Annie Bostrom moderated a free, hour-long conversation about the six books shortlisted for the 2018 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction (Jennifer Egan’s Manhattan Beachi, George Saunders’ Lincoln in the Bardo, Jesmyn Ward’s Sing, Unburied, Sing, Daniel Ellsberg’s The Doomsday Machine, David Grann’s Killers of the Flower Moon, and Sherman Alexie’s You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me). In addition to discussions of each book and appropriate read-alikes, the program featured Jennifer Egan and Nancy Miller, editor of Ellsberg’s The Doomsday Machine, in conversation with Donna Seaman and David Grann in conversation with Annie Bostrom.
