Get the Inside Scoop on Book Club Central’s Program at ALA Annual 2018!

Last month, United for Libraries and Book Club Central teamed up to present the Engaging Book Clubs in Your Community panel at ALA Annual 2018 in New Orleans. Donna Seaman, Editor, Adult Books for Booklist, moderated the panel that included Bill Kelly, librarian at Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Public Library, James Mustich, author of 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die (Workman Publishing), and Amy Stewart, the New York Times bestselling author of the Kopp Sisters series (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) and owner of Eureka Books in California.

The panelists discussed recommendations on how to choose books for a book club, how to engage book group members, and marketing strategies to build and sustain a book club. Attendees were asked to participate with their thoughts on areas such as how to and who chooses books for a book club as well as how to start and maintain a successful teen book club.
